I love beauty products as much as I love clothes, and oftentimes my makeup will influence the clothes I wear. So I've deemed this to be Beauty Week here at Bombshell Beauty. You'll still see what I'm wearing, but the emphasis will be less about the clothes and more about makeup and hair. Might as was well kick things off with one of the most iconic (and impactful) makeup products known to womankind: red lipstick.
(What is it about red lipstick that makes me pull out my smooch lips?)
My perfect shade of red lipstick is Rouge Noir by Julie Hewett. I apply it by lining and then filling in my lips with a lip brush. I blot, then apply another layer of color right from the tube. I've never been good at coloring inside the lines, so if I stray a bit I'll touch up with concealer. A little bronzer and lots of mascara completed my makeup. Simple, simple.
Simple makeup, especially accented with a red lip, always makes me think of France. The women there are known for their minimalist approach to beauty. I certainly don't buy into the hype of "French women are superior" but I do buy into a great black-and-white striped top with ballet flats.
