topics: plus size fashion, colorful eyeliner, Forever 21+
Happy Thursday, Bombshells - hope you're all doing well. Today has been a full day of working from home: phone interviews, writing and random stuff around the house. Luckily, I have a reason to get dressed (as in, swap my yoga pants for a real outfit). I'm going to a much-overdue hair appointment - you know it's bad when Dan suggests I wear a side-part to better hide my grays!
I picked this mini dress from Forever 21+ because the vibrant pattern pretty much wears itself. No need to do a lot of accessorizing. This is plus size dressing at its very easiest. The dress features a built-in tie belt, which normally I hate. But this one actually hits me at the waist, so it's a keeper. Because the dress is so short, I usually go with demure flats instead of heels or strappy sandals. Keeps the look casual, instead of tarty.
And for that colorful green eye makeup...I like bright, fun makeup as much as the next 13 year old. However, I'm 32 so a literal interpretation of green eye makeup requires a little scaling down. I created the look by blending Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Beach Bronze all over my lower lid; then I smudged a little bit of it under my lash line.
I lined my top lashes with a creamy brown eyeliner pencil - but for the lower lashline, I reached for my NYX Slide On pencil in Tropical Green. A little lining, some smudging and voila! An age-appropriate, colorful eye look.
