It's been a long week of jury duty for me, Bombshells. I was excited to be called for my civic duty, never having done so before. But about 2 hours into the process, the excitement was replaced with boredom. In St. Paul (Ramsey County), we're lucky to have the shortest length of commitment in the state - one week. But on the flipside of that, we're actually required to spend much of the week sitting at the court house...at least, I have!
Sitting in a juror's room with 100 other strangers requires: comfortable clothes, lots of reading material and earbuds. The first day, I showed up in an outfit that could be classified as business casual. I thought it made sense to look professional in case I was called to be part of a jury. Talk about overdressed! My fellow jurors were straight up casual - wearing jeans and sneakers and tee shirts.
Day two, I wore a flouncy dress that was a little less businessy...and for day 3, I went for the most comfortable item in my closet:
My Sealed with a Kiss Evangeline maxi dress, paired with a ruffled shrug from Lane Bryant, looked great but felt like pajamas all day long.
My most important accessories were the Jury Handbook and my Nook tablet.
A simple up-do, a headband and a layered medallion necklace (also from LB) completed my "All rise" look for the day.
